Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has released an eight-minute video where he addressed the state of the nation and his plans for the future.
In the video recently posted online, Cuomo announced he’s starting a political action committee to “elect the right people to office.”
The 64-year-old said he doesn’t believe that the federal government has the courage or capacity to make real progress. Cuomo even went as far as to criticize Biden and the Democrats.
“President Biden gave a speech a couple of weeks ago saying he was determined to pass an assault weapons ban,” Cuomo stated. “But the Senate just passed the gun Bill. And it had no ban. And it had no capacity limits. The Democrats wouldn’t even put the bill banning assault rifles on the floor with Democrats united in support to show the Republicans are stopping passage.”
The Democrat also said Democracy is in peril and he’s here to help. The disgraced former governor announced that he has learned a lot. However, Cuomo made no mention of the sexual harassment scandal which prompted him to resign.

President Joe Biden has officially set the refugee admissions cap for the 2023 fiscal year.
On Tuesday, the White House announced they would set the cap at 125,000 migrants. Although this is the same number they gave for 2022, fewer than 20,000 refugees have been admitted. That number is not including the roughly 180,000 Ukrainians and Afghans who came via a legal process called humanitarian parole.
The 2023 cap is divided by regions with Africa being the largest portion at 40,000. The other regions include East Asia at 15,000, Europe and Central Asia at 15,000, Latin America/Caribbean at 15,000, near East/South Asia at 35,000 and another 5,000 slots for unallocated reserves.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken released a statement calling their target “ambitious.” He also reaffirmed their commitment to rebuilding and strengthening the refugee admissions program.

A man died during a flooding in a northern Adriatic Sea port in Croatia after the town was hit by a storm and a torrential rainfall, authorities said on Thursday.
Huge amounts of water drenched Rijeka on Wednesday evening, bursting into houses and submerging the town’s squares and streets.
Officials said as much rain fell in just two hours as normally falls in a month.
Emergency crews had to take out a group of children from a playroom in Rijeka as the water started coming in, said firefighter Mladen Sculac.
A local school and dozens of other buildings have been damaged in the flooding, he added….
MOSCOW—Three Russian cosmonauts returned safely on Thursday from a mission to the International Space Station.
The Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft carrying Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveyev, and Sergey Korsakov touched down softly at 4:57 p.m. (1057 GMT) at a designated site in the steppes of Kazakhstan about 150 kilometers (about 90 miles) southeast of the city of Zhezkazgan.
The trio arrived at the station in March. For Artemyev, the mission marked a third space flight that has brought his total time spent in orbit to 561 days. Matveyev and Korsakov each logged 195 days on their first missions.
As the Soyuz capsule was descending on a big striped red-and-white parachute under clear skies, Artemyev reported to the Mission Control that all members of the crew were feeling fine….
Available evidence suggesting that grocers are increasing food prices under the guise of inflation—a phenomenon also known as “greedflation”— is “weak, at best,” says Sylvain Charlebois, a Canadian researcher and professor in food policy and distribution.
“Accusations of gouging in the food industry have reached an all-time high,” Charlebois said while testifying before the House of Commons finance committee on Sept. 28.
Charlebois said a recent survey found that 80 percent of Canadians believe food corporations “are taking advantage of the inflationary cycle to increase prices.”
Charlebois, who is the director of Agri-Food Analytics Lab, said he has investigated the matter with the help of several other food distribution researchers and found that “any evidence of ‘greedflation’ in food retail in Canada is weak at best.”…
