The White House has claimed that President Joe Biden has been to the southern border, despite travel logs showing that he has never been there during his time in office.
Karine Jean-Pierre says Biden has “been to the border.”
On Wednesday, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if Biden would RSVP to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) invite to join him at the southern border.
In response, she said Biden has in fact been to the border and then proceeded to attack Republicans.
“So, look, he’s been there, he’s been to the border,” Jean-Pierre said. “Since he took office, President Biden has been taking action to fix our immigration system and secure our border. And that’s why on day one he put forward immigration reform, a piece of legislation to deal with what is currently happening at the border.”
Instead of answering the question, Jean-Pierre blamed Republicans for being “unwilling to work with the president.”
“From Republicans, we’re not seeing a willingness to work with us on you know fixing a situation that’s been around for decades now. Instead, they are doing political stunts. That’s what they want to do, that’s how they want to take care of the situation,” Jean-Pierre said.
